Thank you so much to those of you that
have pre-ordered Dating Between the
Lines already. You are Amazon-ing... ?
I just want to send you a quick note to
Explain Why Pre-orders are Important.
I didn't know anything about it when I started.
But I learned that for an indie publisher, pre-orders
can make or break a book's success because:
1. Pre-order show up to the Amazon algorithm robots as if on Dec 7th, a bunch of people bought the book all at once. This makes there little robot brains go off and tell the powers to be that this book should be included in Best of Lists and should show up in other parts of the site.
2. They show indie bookstores that we are worth the risk. This is crucial because we want to support local bookstores, and they want to support us, but they need to know our books not going to sit around gathering dust.
3. If we want to do a second edition or another book through a traditional publisher, pre-orders show they that we mean business, that people wanna read our stuff, and they should invest their time and money into us.
4. Pre-orders make us feel good and like all our hard work over the past 9 months is not falling on deaf ears ?
So if you were planning to buy it,
were gonna do it later,
haven't gotten around to it yet...
Please! Do it now!
We're so happy for you to enjoy the book now or later, but if you were gonna buy it now anyway, doing so as a pre-order has a huge impact for us.
